Position: Data Science Consultant Intern [Yes, you will get paid]
Location: We are in Austin, TX. This is a remote work, though being in Austin is ideal.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated Data Science Intern to join our team. This internship offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience with real-world data engineering, analytics, and data science and machine learning projects. The ideal candidate is passionate about data, eager to learn, and excited to contribute to meaningful projects that have a direct impact on our clients. A key goal of the internship is to introduce consulting as a career opportunity and assist you in making an informed career choice.
During this internship, you will primarily work on internal projects and data that will impact our operations and assist in how we serve our customers. You will, at times, be able to join in customer conversations and project meetings to learn more about consulting work.
We are a Databricks and AWS partner; our internal platform is centered on these tech platforms.
We anticipate this individual working up to 40 hours per week at $20/hour during the summer break.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the development and implementation of data science workflows and machine learning systems.
Clean, preprocess, and analyze structured and unstructured data.
Collaborate with data engineers and business analysts to gather insights and improve data quality.
Create visualizations and dashboards to communicate data-driven findings.
Support ad hoc data analysis and reporting needs.
Document methodologies, findings, and best practices.
Qualifications:
Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in a related quantitative field.
Familiarity with programming languages such as Python.
Experience with data manipulation libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy) and visualization tools (e.g., Matplotlib, Seaborn, Power BI, or Tableau).
Understanding of machine learning concepts and frameworks (e.g., Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch) is a plus.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively.
Experience with open source LLMs is a plus.
Candidates must have the permanent right to work in the United States without additional visa sponsorship
