  • Data Engineering

    When you hear “does this data look weird”, do you see the opportunity? If you’ve walked through the land of “it’s just a simple data request” and come out alive (and wanting more), you might be our kind of people. Everyone here speaks SQL and Spark (though the data scientists still complain), we love coffee, and applying our love of data structures to helping our clients and the world be a better place. “Can you just pull this data real quick” is our clarion call - and no worries, if you lost your cape, we’ll provide one for you.

  • Data Science

    Do you have the patience to walk a client through why building a 10 year forecast on two years of historical data might not produce the desired outcome? If you love cleaning up data that looks like it was assembled by caffeinated wombats, then you might be our type of people. Our team loves working through incomplete data, explaining assumptions, and working to clarify the difference between statistical significance and practical significance and building models that are actually useful.

  • Data Platform

    Have (or had) a 127.0.0.1 t-shirt? Do you have a rolodex of inane answers to the age old request of root access to production “just this once”? If so, we find you very intriguing. Zen like calm is required when the dreaded “it works on my machine/environment” is uttered or working with clients when they blame the platform versus their poorly written SQL/Spark scanning petabytes of data. And if building zero trust data platforms makes you more excited than the Hamburglar in a burger factory, well, enough said.

Applied Curiosity is an AWS and Databricks partner, so people we are connecting with should either have experience on these platforms or be ready to learn fast and work on AWS and Databricks.
